The Department of Academic
Programs and Support is in constant development of materials
for English and Yup'ik academic programs. Due to the uniqueness
of our environment and peoples, materials are tailor made
for our setting. We have a full time Graphic Department
and a Videographer to develop curricular materials throughout
the year. |

| The books
and educational materials available within the Department
of Academic Programs and Support are designed to support
the Department's goals to develop Yup'ik language proficiency
for cultural, family and academic purposes, to develop
English language proficiency for social and academic purposes,
and to keep the indigenous language alive. The job goals
of the Graphics Department staff are to produce bilingual
materials in order to enhance the learning opportunities
of students in LKSD bilingual programs. |

LKSD
also runs a small Yup'ik Bookstore that sells materials
to
the remote sites and other interested parties.
