FAFSA
Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Every student should try to fill out the FAFSA every February before you plan to be a student in that coming August. There is an online site to do that or you can use the paper application.
You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that will summarize the data you report on your FAFSA which you should check for accuracy and save. The schools you consider attending will use that information to decide about scholarships they might have for you besides the ones you track down and apply for yourself.
