The 01-02 season of the Kwethluk Kings was a success. We placed first in the districts meet in Bethel. The season record for the 01-02 year was 19-3, but after an unfortunate disqualification in our league meet in Atmautluak our season record changed to 0-22. Our coach Martin Andrew produced the most effective plays to defeat any team we faced. One of our stars, center Mason Gillila was grabbing in 15.9 rebounds per game and scoring 26.8 points per game. Small forward, Toby Nicolai had some game too, he had 8 rebounds 17.5 points per game and 9.5 assists per game. Point guard, Daniel guy contributed 22.9 points per game and 15.3 assists per game and shooting guard, Keith Ayapan was all about defense he had 8.3 steals per game and 12.8 points per game. At power forward, Billy McDalton had 22.4 points per game and 15.2 rebounds per game. To sum it all up Kwethluk really deserved to go to the state meet in Anchorage its simple as that.
