COMMUNITY NETWORKING

Collaboration and networking with community agencies, both in Bethel and in the villages are important components to the school social work program.

Within Bethel, the social workers meet with the Division of Family and Youth Services (DFYS) monthly to discuss common cases and administrative concerns. The social work staff also meet with Yukon Kuskokwim Mental Health monthly for case consultation.

In the village sites, the social workers work closely with traditional council, clinic, city council, VPSO, paraprofessionals for case consultation and intervention.

The social workers work towards being part of the existing multi-disciplinary teams in the communities.
