Activities That Happen In Our School Field Day (Thursday) Every month the students (K-12) get together in the gym and spend their time playing games. The games are usually held last Thursday of the month at 2:45. During the games there are six different teams: Walrus, Seals, Salmon, Moose, Beavers, and Caribou. The team with the most points win and get to get their picture taken for the month they won.
Tununak Coasters, Basketball This year the Tununak Coaster had a co-ed basketball team and there were 12 players who joined the team. 10 boys and two girls participated. Out of the whole year they only played in two tournament games and out of the two tournaments they did pretty well but they didn't expect what they wanted. The team did not give up, they fought to the end no matter what happened. Coach: Felix Albert, Team Captain: Thomas Albert #22, Co-captain: Paul Angaiak #24, Frank Link #12, Jazmin James #10, John Flynn #11, Harry Albert #32, Joseph Post #25, Paul Link #34, Michael Albert #5, Baxter Bond #33, Virginia Angaiak #20, and Sherry Oscar #15 Native Youth Olympics (NYO) Ages 12 and up, which is a great amount of students joining this sport this year. There are like 20 or more students participating. The NYO team is coached by Monica Hecklinger and George Kanrilak. |
