Akula is the
second of the two sites visited in Kasigluk. The
day was spent working with teachers and their
students in the classroom with the "Hands-on
approach". The use of iBooks made it easy to
relocate.
|
Friday
afternoon was spent working with teachers. It was
exciting to be able to access the Internet without
any wires! Richard Taylor provided a world of
information about surfing! How 'bout those
blueberries!

All ages of
students actively engaged in using
computers...
|
... from
using the software to using it as an information
tool!
|
As a student
practices at his seat, a projector demonstrates
applications on the board for easy
reference.
|
Taking turns
and helping each other enhances what we learn.
|
Volunteers
and Elders work with students of all ages in
Traditional Yup'ik Dance.

Check this
out!
|
The students
practice using a digital camera!
The board
walks are used for travel by foot or four wheeler
.
|
Not bad for a
first time action shot!
|
Kasigluk's
Holy Trinity church is at the end of the board
walk.
|
In taking a
picture, the position of the sun can effect a
photo!
|
Smiles
from Akula!
