Nelson Island Area Schools

Toksook Bay, Alaska

Date of visit:

October 25th & 26th, 2000

"Children First" is a motto that is evident throughout the entire school. From what I saw on my short visit, the entire village believes in it for that matter! So many happy, well behaved children... they are a pleasure to work with!

What a warm and friendly welcome from everyone!
Quyana !!!

Make-shift presentation set up!
I will get down on my knees if it will help our students learn!

After a quick demo on what to do, these young learners are off exploring with technology!

Roy points out one of the many features on the computers.

It is amazing how fast these little fingers pick up on how to use these little portable computers!

PC and Macs both use Microsoft Word in this lab!

Toksook has gravel beaches and dirt roads.
These little iBooks can run most of the day with out any wires. And that includes Internet and Email us!
Here Linae Sanger stands with Roy Corral to capture on last picture with the beautiful bay in the background before flying off on ERA back to Bethel.
"Ta Da!"
