BOARD ACTIONS – AUGUST 02 MEETING

The Lower Kuskokwim School District Board of Education met in regular session on Friday August 24, 2001 in Bethel and Saturday, August 25, 2001 in Newtok.   Present for the meeting were: Lucy Crow,  Will Updegrove, Mary Gregory, Robert Nick and Bob Herron.   Via Audio Conference were:  Carl Motgin, Carl Andrew, Roland Lewis, Richard Curtis, and Nicholai Joekay.

 During the meeting the Board:

 ¨      Adopted the minutes of the June meeting as presented with a correction;

¨      Heard the following reports:

* Department of Academic Programs

* FY 01 Districtwide Assessment Report

* Plant Facilities Semi Annual / Summer Projects

* Capital Project Status Report

* Summer Student Activities / Kusko Express

* Yuut Elitnaurviat

* MOA Report

* Superintendent’s Report

* Site Report from Newtok School

¨      Approved the items listed on the Consent Agenda which included:

Routine personnel actions entered into since the June meeting;  budget revisions sbmitted by                 Atmautluak, BABS, Napaskiak, and Newtok;

¨      Approved the RFP 2002-545-01 Student Physicals with Pat Hensch PA-C in the amount at $59.00 per student;

¨      The Board took no action on the AASB Resolutions;

¨      Approved the Administrative proposal Preventive Maintenance to go out for a RFP on the window replacements for sites;

¨      Approved the Position Specification Revision for the Systems Analyst: Web Page and Systems Analyst : Email-Networking;

¨      Approved the Equipment requests for:

* Model 450FE Honda Fourtrax Forman 2002 in the amount of $7067.00 for Atmautluak    School;

* Model 450FE Honda Fourtrax Forman 2002 in the amount of $7067.00 for Newtok School;

* Honda TRX350FM Manual Shift 4X4 unit in the amount of $6274.00 for Tuntutuliak School;

¨      Approved the recommendation to expel a student;

¨      Discussed the following issues:

* Naming School Buildings

* BP Employing Retired Teachers in its first reading

* BP Student Athlete Drug Testing in its first reading

 

NOTE:  The next School Board meeting will be October 26 & 27 2001 in Mekoryuk.
