The Village of Goodnews Bay
Goodnews
Bay is a small Yup'ik Eskimo village located on the Bering Sea Coast in
Southwestern Alaska. The village can only be reached by small
airplane year-round and by boat in the summer and fall. The
population of Goodnews Bay is about 280
people. Most of the residents practice subsistence hunting and
fishing, as well as commercial fishing, to support their families.
