AppleWorks
is an integrated software program that allows you to
easily move back and forth between the different
environments.
Here are
those environments:
Getting Started
The one
we tend to be most familiar with is Word Processing. The
older version was called Claris Works. Since we are going
to take a look at the Drawing Program in this lesson, go
ahead and click on that icon and we'll get
started:
|
|
Go
to your Office Manager, ,
drag to
AppleWorks 6, ,
and
click on the icon, Drawing, to open the
program.
|
The graphic software allows you to create pictures
and artwork, using the computer. Then you are able to
easily cut and paste it into the word processor or the
document of your choice to enhance your overall
project.
Note:
Aplleworks Drawing compared with Appleworks
Painting is like a flannel board compared with a canvas
painting!

|
There are
also some more advanced tools.
In order as
they appear they are the freehand tool, bezigon
tool, polygon tool, irregular polygon tool, arc,
and eyedropper.
|
The
freehand tool is for simple drawing of lines.
The
bezigon tool allows you to make a shape with as many
rounded corners as you desire.
The
polygon tool will let you choose how many sides for a
shape.
The
irregular polygon tool will create and anchor point each
time you click.
The
arc tool can make arcs and cones. Go to Edit and drag to
Arc Info... to modify.
The
eyedropper can be used to pick up an attribute of an
object previously made. It is really useful if you forget
what color you used and need to duplicate it!
If you click on
these, the menu options change. Check it out!

then click on the graphic and drag it to your
document. You can also add these to your
scrapbook.
NOTE:
These graphics will be okay to use without
worrying about copyright issues. But please be
aware...
When
searching the internet, it is easy to click and
copy pictures. Some of these are copyright
