Toksook from the Air Dog Movies Experiment

Nelson Island School is located in the native Yup'ik village of Toksook Bay, Alaska.   Our village is the largest of the Kuskokwim Delta villages served by the Lower Kuskokwim School District. Within our village, we have two governmental bodies. We have the Village Council of  (the tribal council), and the City of Toksook Bay City Council. The church in our village is Roman Catholic. [Toksook Bay, Alaska demographics]     <>         Subsistence living through hunting and fishing is the mainstay for our families. Commercial fishing prices have been exceedingly low the past two years, so while our community has had to do without much additional cash from fishing to get them through the year, they have had steady fish catches to dry and use as food in their homes. There is a very close communion between the land and our people.
