Hello! My name is Nicole Smith. I teach ELD (English Language Development) to k-3rd grade students. I spend between 30 minutes to 1 hour each day in all the classrooms. We spend time singing songs to develop fluency of speaking the English language, reading and discussing library books to strengthen the enjoyment of reading, and working on thematic vocabulary (themes: people, foods, animals, clothing, body parts) to enhance our listening, speaking, reading, and writing language skills.
I have lived in Toksook Bay since 1999. I taught fourth grade for three years and then moved to the ELD position. I enjoy reading, sewing, exercising, and spending time with my husband and sons (Martin, Payton, Adrian, and Landon).
