In early December 2021, LKSD spearheaded "LKSD Live", a regular Facebook Live Zoom on Friday afternoons featuring interviewed guests with moderator Patrick Williams. The goal has been to connect people from around our school district by discussing themes in education; past topics include student resilience and growth mindsets, literacy in the home, and teaching current events. We hope the information is useful for new and experienced teachers alike and appreciate the feedback and dialog from colleagues and friends within and outside of LKSD. While our primary audience is our educational staff, the conversations, and the examples and information shared are applicable and accessible to all of our community invested in our students and in education.

We are grateful to Patrick Williams, LKSD education specialist (communications), and to all of our contributors/panelists for providing a good mix of practical examples and theory. We hope you join us for our next session this Friday, January 22, at 4 pm. We will be having a conversation with Joe Bavilla from Napaskiak about how he has helped build his students' resilience through coaching.
