College Application Checklist


Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA), Region I   Eight $1000 scholarships for four male and four female students to pursue post-secondary education or vocational education. For students who have actively participated in ASAA. Deadline: March 30, 2024.

AVCP Tribal Workforce Development  Need-based higher education and vocational training scholarships for eligible tribal members. Deadlines: April 30, June 30, December 30 for High Ed. Scholarship; and 30 days prior to start date for vocational training.  Website

Bethel Native Corporation  Available to BNC shareholders and/or direct descendants. Application deadlines mid-February/mid-October for Fall/Spring.

CVRF Louis Bunyan Memorial Scholarship Assistance to CVRF residents who wish to pursue careers but might not otherwise be able to further their academic education due to financial need.                           CVRF Scholarship website
Delta Western $10,000 scholarship. Deadline: April 12, 2024. Can be applied to two-year or four-year program. Website and application
Doyon Foundation  Available to Doyon shareholders and/or direct descendants. Scholarships for full-time and part time students, for non-degree programs and course, and for high school students taking college credits. Deadline March 15. Doyon scholarships webpage
James & Dorothy Hoffman Memorial $1000 Scholarship $1000 scholarship for BRHS or KLA graduating senior who will attend college or trade school. Deadline May 7, 2024.
Past awardees
John Active Memorial Scholarship One $1000 scholarship for a college student with ties to the YK Delta with preference given to those studying journalism, indigenous language, multimedia or communications. Deadline early June.  Application
Kuskokwim Education Foundation  Applicants must be TKC shareholders. Deadline April 15, 2023. Information
Lower Kuskokwim Administrator's Association (LKAA)  $1000 scholarships for past graduates of LKSD high schools or current seniors pursuing a degree in education. Deadline April 15, 2024.  Application 2024

Mary Ciuniq Pete Legacy Scholarship $1000 scholarships to KuC students returning for third semester and beyond. Preference given to students who are Alaska Native women. Deadline June 1. Application
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution  This award is intended to help Native American college and technical school students of any age, any tribe, in any state striving to obtain an eduction. Deadline April 1. Scholarship Information

VFW Ladies Auxiliary

YDFDA (Yukon Delta Fisheries Development Association)
Applicant must be a resident of one of the 6 villages of YDFDA (Alakanuk, Emmonak, Grayling, Kotlik, Mountain Village, and Nunam Iqua) for at least 5 continuous years at any time prior to application.    Information and application link


YKHC offers more than $80,000 in scholarships to encourage members of the 58 tribes served by YKHC and their descendants to pursue training as health professionals. Applications due June 1, November 1.                        Information and application

 Alaska Community Foundation Over 40 scholarships for Alaskan students, including scholarships for technical education. Most deadlines are March 15.  Website
AEEF (Alaska Engineering Education Association)  For seniors interested in pursuing a degree in engineering. One application makes you eligible for several scholarships.

Alaska Native Tribal Health
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium awards $5,000 scholarships to qualified Alaska Native and American Indian students to increase Alaska Native and American Indian people working in health care fields. The 2023-2024 application period opens March 1 and closes at 5 pm, March 31. More information about this scholarship and others available on their website

Scholarships for original enrollees of Cook Inlet Region and their descendants, and for CIRI shareholders.


GCI  Focus on supporting students who want to pursue a major, trade or vocational training relevant to STEM and who live in rural Alaska or would like to return to Alaska. Deadline March 15. Website
