Overview:
Each spring, LKSD hosts a three-day long dance festival focused on
celebrating Yup'ik skills and knowledge, as well as the art and
storytelling of yuraq (traditional Yup'ik dance). The week is spent
exploring cultural knowledge and skills in workshops hosted by elders
and other experts from the community. Evenings are filled with hours of
entertaining yuraq as each school team takes turns performing.
